First day of December and Winter is upon us. Bitterly cold here just now and we are not entirely prepared. Winter also means Christmas in this crazy half of the world – normally it’s all sunshine and cold drinks. So we’re not ready for Christmas either. Our planned trip to our nearest Metro this afternoon failed as the city’s taxi drivers had organised a ‘boycott the laowei’ afternoon, so we are without bread or decorations.
Fortunately I have been team teaching a unit on homes with the Year 1/2 teacher that involves copious amounts of cardboard through my library. So I think we will have a cardboard Christmas this year.
And there is some amazing inspiration online:
A bunch of cool mini cardboard trees
And my favourite – possibly because its simplest – Christmas triangles with holes for the lights
